Cashier (Part-Time) - Portage, WI

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for interacting with customers as they enter and leave the retail store, providing excellent customer service. Hours vary and may include occasional night or weekend coverage.

Pay range: $15.00–$16.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Reporting relationships

The Cashier reports directly to the Store Manager and has no direct supervisory authority.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the retail store and assist with customer service questions.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and handle appropriately.
• Handle customer transactions using the KCX cash register system.
• Ensure accurate cash handling.
• Price store merchandise as requested by store management.
• Stock merchandise on shelves as requested by store management.
• Process customer returns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Frequent bending and twisting.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Working environment

• Retail store setting with both cold and warm conditions.
• Irregular work schedule.
