Responsibilities
- Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
- Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
- Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
- Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
- Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
- Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts
- End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
- Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
- Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policies
- Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
- Keep the checkout area stocked and clean
Schedule
Must be available to work on an every other weekend rotation. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and requires availability a minimum of two weekends a month. Average hours per week is 20 hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.
