Cashier I

About the role

Cottage Health seeks a Cashier I for their CH Single Billing Office department.

Responsibilities

• Daily posting and reconciliation of insurance correspondence through on-base, mail, and emails.
• Report all discrepancies with correspondence for resolution.
• Re-categorization of denial reasons in health logic.
• Sometime posting of cash, checks and other payments to maximize cash collections.
• Account resolution includes insurance eligibility verification and submissions of refund requests (checks and credit cards) for both insurance and patient.

Qualifications

• Education: Preferred: Some college course work.
• Technical Requirements: Minimum: Basic MS Word and Excel skills. 35 wpm keyboarding/typing speed. 6,000+ sph 10-key. Basic math skills.
• Years of Related Work Experience: Minimum: 2 years of experience with cash handling and cash drawer end-of-day balancing or retail/data entry.
• Preferred: EPIC system experience. Preferred: 6 months to a year in medical office setting.

Pay

Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable.

Schedule

Manager and above positions may participate in Cottage Health’s annual management incentive program.
