Cashier - General Store

Position Summary

The Cashier provides fast, friendly, and accurate checkout services to customers while maintaining a clean and organized front-end area. This position plays a key role in creating a positive shopping experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a warm, friendly, and professional manner as they enter and leave the store.
• Operate a computerized cash register to process sales quickly and accurately.
• Provide knowledgeable assistance on pricing and weekly ad specials.
• Verify and check pricing of products when needed.
• Bag grocery items efficiently and safely, when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the register area.
• Assist with product facing and stocking small items around the register.
• Ensure register is stocked with bags, receipt tape, and necessary supplies.
• Return misplaced products to their correct shelf locations.
• Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude.
• Basic computer proficiency and math skills.
• Ability to pass a background check.
