About the role

Bookmans Entertainment Exchange has been serving Arizona communities for nearly 50 years. Originally a used bookstore, Bookmans has expanded to include various forms of media such as books, video games, music and movies as well as musical instruments, housewares, and collectibles. We buy, sell, and trade with our customers to acquire the majority of our inventory, proudly following a sustainable business model that keeps items out of landfills and gives them new life. Additionally, Bookmans speaks out against censorship and promotes freedom of expression at every turn.

Responsibilities

• Apply customer service knowledge to assist customers with purchases and questions, incorporating positive customer-focused strategies
• Handle cash and trade transactions accurately and efficiently

Requirements

• Good communication and customer service skills
• Motivation to serve customers
• Able to efficiently and accurately complete sales transactions
• Ability to deescalate situations that may arise in a retail work environment
• Cash handling and POS knowledge
• Able to adapt to a flexible working schedule with early mornings, evenings, mid-shifts, and weekends
• Must maintain a clean, orderly counter area free of clutter, in front, on top, and behind
