Cashier (Full-Time)

About the role

Zaxbys is a fun, friend‑focused restaurant where cashiers are the first point of contact for guests. Cashiers take and enter orders, handle payments, keep dining areas clean, and deliver excellent service by following standard operating procedures with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required training, including the Zaxbys Front of House Development Plan, hands‑on stations training, and any additional training required by Zax LLC.
• Provide friendly, enthusiastic service to all guests; promptly greet guests on entry and thank them on exit.
• Maintain awareness of current promotions and explain menu items, answer questions, and suggest additional items.
• Represent the Zaxbys brand enthusiastically.
• Accurately enter guest orders into the point‑of‑sale system and complete transactions.
• Accept payments, operate cash registers, maintain receipts, handle cash, count and verify tills, and record totals appropriately.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and welcoming, including dining rooms, counters, bathrooms, and exterior areas.
• Maintain equipment and report maintenance needs to management.
• Stock paper goods, condiments, serveware, and beverages; keep work areas organized.
• Prepare menu items, beverages, sauces, and produce according to company standards and safety guidelines.
• Ensure food and beverages are handled according to safety regulations.
• Accurately complete, package, and present guest orders.
• Assist with kitchen and back‑of‑house tasks as assigned.
• Work with a sense of urgency and complete all tasks in a timely manner.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Part‑time availability: 9 to 28 hours per week.
• Full‑time availability: 32 to 40 hours per week.

Capabilities

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk continuously.
• Occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, or climb, including ladder use.
• Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lb, including overhead lifting.
• Continuous use of hands and wrists for grasping and fine manipulation.
• Proficient communication through speech, reading, and writing.
• Effective audio‑visual perception and judgment to observe and respond to the environment.
• Work in indoor or outdoor environments with temperature variations and exposure to food and allergens.
• Operate restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.

Schedule

Part‑time positions require 9–28 hours per week; full‑time positions require 32–40 hours per week.
