CASHIER/FOOD SERVICE WORKER (ON CALL)
About the role
Chartwells K12 is hiring immediate on-call CASHIER/FOOD SERVICE WORKER positions at Freeland Community School District, located at 710 Powley Drive, Freeland, MI 48623. Online applications are accepted only. Shifts may vary and are on-call. Perks include meal included and choice of shifts and schools. Pay range is $15.00 to $15.25 per hour. Internal referrals receive a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Helps prepare foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts.
- Assists in preparing catering orders.
- Performs cashier duties using the POS system.
- Cleans coffee and cashier stations.
- Services retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
- Cashiers according to established procedures, maintaining cash accuracy with receipts.
- Makes deposits at the end of each shift.
- Inventories and restocks supplies and food products.
- Sets up serving line, ensuring temperatures are within acceptable ranges.
- Serves hot and cold items to customers.
- Stocks pantries with correct par levels of food items.
- Records replenished amounts on floor stock forms for each unit.
- Records refrigerator temperatures on floor stock forms daily.
Requirements
Prior cashier or food service experience is preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Prior cashier or food service experience is preferred, but not required.
Skills
Knowledge of POS systems, ability to handle cash accurately, and attention to detail are important skills.
