Main Job Responsibilities
- Modeling and providing excellent, professional customer service
- Accurately and efficiently scanning and keying items into the register
- Receiving and processing all payments according to PCC standards
- Performing basic math skills and proficiency at 10-key
- Communicating effectively about PCC’s membership and programs
- Bagging groceries according to PCC bagging guidelines
- Maintaining orderly appearance of register area
- Ensuring that department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met
- When acting in the PIC capacity, supervising the front end and overseeing entire store, ensuring that all PCC policies and procedures are followed
- Handling security issues carefully and responsibly
- Protecting the safety of staff and customers and the security of PCC property
- Handling daily use and any problems with equipment properly and ensuring adherence to store standards
Qualifications And Skills
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
- Available to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends
- Ability to operate an electronic register
- Demonstrated basic math skills, ability to handle money accurately, and proficient at 10-key
- Excellent attention to detail, multitasking skills and organizational skills required
- Previous retail or public customer contact experience desired; background in cashiering and retail grocery industry preferred
- Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40 lbs
- Excellent leadership, teambuilding, and communication skills
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
- If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
