About the role

This position is responsible for handling all cash and card transactions in the store while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.
  • Deliver our Five Star Experience by embodying our Mission Statement and Service Promise while adhering to department service standards, including consistency in: Welcoming, Proactive, Seamless, Personalized, and Valued service.
  • Manage financial transactions, assist customers, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Process goods and services accurately using the point-of-sale system; issue refunds for returned merchandise.
  • Answer guest questions regarding products, services, promotions, policies, and resolve complaints or escalate issues to management.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, store security, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor premises, entrances, and exits to prevent shoplifting.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on store equipment.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, service islands, fuel pumps, and other store areas.
  • Dispense propane while observing all industry safety standards.
  • Perform basic inventory management tasks, such as counting stock, recording inventory levels, and restocking shelves and coolers.
  • Handle sales transactions, receive payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits, and issue receipts, refunds, or change accurately.
  • Maintain knowledge of current policies regarding payment, exchanges, and security practices.
  • Advise customers on products and services available in the store.
  • Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
  • Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to guests and vendors.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures; attend scheduled safety meetings and training.
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service positions is a plus but not required.
  • Able to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with customers.
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of maintenance related to travel centers.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass periodic random drug screens.
  • Must pass a background suitability investigation.
  • Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Occasionally required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to use repetitive movements to complete tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May occasionally work in low-light conditions and be exposed to loud noise for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • Multiple locations, including enterprises that may be open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • Must be flexible to work any and all hours, including weekends, holidays, and be available for emergency calls 24/7.
  • Must be able to work in all extreme weather conditions.
  • Some enterprises are gaming facilities and may not be smoke-free.
  • Surveillance cameras and audio equipment monitor the premises 24/7.
