Cashier

About the role

As a cashier at Wegmans, you’ll ensure customers end their shopping trips with a positive experience by providing proactive, incredible customer service in both traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes. Your role will help transform first-time shoppers into loyal Wegmans customers.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
• Proactively offer additional assistance and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
• Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments when on register
• Properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
• Manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area, direct customers to available lanes, and assist with system troubleshooting
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace
