What are we looking for?
First impressions start here! As a Cashier, you’ll greet guests with a smile, process orders quickly, and keep the front-of-house running smoothly. Fast-paced, fun, and full of interaction—if you love people and being part of a great team, this role is for you! This role is Monday through Friday, daytime hours.

About the role

The Bartolotta Restaurants is a nationally recognized restaurant and catering organization co-founded by restaurateur Joe Bartolotta and his brother, two-time James Beard Award-winning Chef Paul Bartolotta. Since 1993, The Bartolotta Restaurants has grown to become the premier culinary brand in the Greater Milwaukee region, offering first-class service and cuisine across a portfolio of 18 one-of-a-kind restaurants and catering facilities. As a forward-thinking and respected company, we also give back to our community through Care-a-lotta, a charitable program that supports numerous nonprofit organizations throughout Milwaukee.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the location
• Accept and process payments in the form of cash, credit or debit cards, and checks for items purchased.
• Aid customers with questions or pricing discrepancies.
• Ensure accurate transactions by balancing cash drawers at the beginning along with sales at the end of shift.
• Process returns and exchanges according to policy.
• Identify process of products and services and tabulate bills with available equipment.
• Assist customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information.
• Bag, box, and wrap purchased items.

Requirements

• Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and presentation skills with focus on serving customers.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment.
• Basic mathematical skills needed to make change and give refunds.
• Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash register, calculator, and scanner.
• Ability to learn and retain knowledge about company products, services, and customer related policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to talk, use repetitive motion, type, and hear.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
• May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
