Responsibilities

• Process each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently while ensuring complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service.
• Accurately handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change.
• Assist customers by providing information and resolving complaints.
• Follow all front-end procedures, assist with stocking shelves, and perform facing and dusting as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items and direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
• Stay familiar with store events and seminars, and maintain excellent communication with the front-end manager and Head Cashier.
• Ensure checkout areas are properly maintained in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction, provide constructive criticism, and work in a team environment.
• Ability to perform repetitious activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Must lift and carry products weighing up to 30 lbs. from 36” to 24” for distances up to 3 feet, for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Must use both hands to move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs. for distances up to 4 feet, for up to 50 hours.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers; proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read, write, and count.
