Cashier

About the role

As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company while you process each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently. You ensure complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service, accurately handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change, and assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.

You will follow all front-end procedures, assist with stocking shelves, facing and dusting as needed, maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, direct customers to product locations, and stay informed about store events and seminars. Excellent communication with the front-end manager and Head Cashier is essential. You are responsible for keeping checkout areas clean and orderly and executing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit/debit payments, and provide change accurately.
• Assist customers with information and resolve complaints.
• Follow all front-end procedures and assist with stocking shelves, facing, and dusting.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items and store events.
• Direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
• Ensure checkout areas are clean and orderly at all times.
• Communicate effectively with front-end manager and Head Cashier.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers.
• Proficiency in operating front-end equipment (register, calculator, scanner).
• Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction/constructive criticism.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Capability to perform repetitious activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.

Qualifications

• Must lift and carry products weighing up to 30 lbs., from 36” to 24”, for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally requiring a force up to 35 lbs., for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers.
• Proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read, write, and count.
