Cashier

About the role

As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company while you process each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently. You ensure complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service, accurately handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change, and assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.

You will follow all front-end procedures, assist with stocking shelves, facing and dusting as needed, maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, direct customers to product locations, and stay informed about store events and seminars. Excellent communication with the front-end manager and Head Cashier is expected. You will also ensure checkout areas are clean and orderly at all times and perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Handle cash, credit/debit payments, and provide correct change
• Assist customers with information and resolve complaints
• Follow all front-end procedures
• Assist with stocking shelves, facing, and dusting as needed
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items and product locations
• Communicate store events and seminars to customers
• Maintain excellent communication with front-end manager and Head Cashier
• Keep checkout areas clean and orderly
• Perform repetitious activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
• Lift and carry products up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring force up to 35 lbs.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
• Ability to interact with customers and operate front-end equipment (register, calculator, scanner)
• Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction/constructive criticism
• Ability to perform repetitious activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
• Proficiency with numbers, cash handling, and mathematical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring force up to 35 lbs.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $17.05 - $21.25 per hour. Pay is determined based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
