Cashier
About the role
As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company while you process each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently. You ensure complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service, handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change, and assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.
You will follow all front-end procedures, assist with stocking shelves, facing and dusting as needed, maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, direct customers to product locations, and stay informed about store events and seminars. You will also ensure checkout areas are clean and orderly, and maintain excellent communication with the front-end manager and Head Cashier.
Responsibilities

- Assist customers by providing information and resolving complaints
- Follow all front-end procedures
- Assist with stocking shelves, facing, and dusting as needed
- Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items and store events
- Direct customers to product locations throughout the store
- Ensure checkout areas are clean and orderly at all times
- Maintain excellent communication with front-end manager and Head Cashier
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience
- Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- Ability to interact with customers and operate front-end equipment (register, calculator, scanner)
- Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Good communication skills and ability to take direction/constructive criticism
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
- Ability to perform repetitious activities
- Must lift/carry product weighing up to 30 lbs., from 36” to 24”, for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance
- Must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally requiring a force up to 35 lbs., for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers
- Proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills; ability to read, write, and count
