About the role

Cashiers at Rosewood Market + Deli greet every customer warmly and create a welcoming checkout experience. They operate the register accurately and efficiently, handle cash, card, and other payment methods, maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area, bag groceries with care, answer customer questions, and support the front end team during peak hours.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer warmly and create a welcoming checkout experience
• Operate the register accurately and efficiently, handling cash, card, and other payment methods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area at all times
• Bag groceries with care, especially delicate and perishable items
• Answer customer questions and direct them to the right department or team member
• Stay familiar with our products, promotions, and store layout so you can genuinely help
• Support the front end team during peak hours and assist with light stocking or store upkeep as needed
• Communicate through company-designated platforms including Homebase and email
• Treat every customer and co-worker with courtesy, patience, and respect

Requirements

• A natural people person; friendly, patient, and genuinely customer-focused
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to show up
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while staying calm and professional
• A positive attitude that contributes to a great team culture
• A genuine interest in natural and organic food is a plus: our customers ask questions, and knowing your products goes a long way

Qualifications

• Prior cash handling or retail experience preferred, but we'll train the right person
• Flexible hours, weekend availability preferred
• Customer service experience a plus but not required
• Must communicate by Homebase and email
• Is an active part of the Rosewood Market Team, adhering to high standards of service, quality, and presentation
• Takes initiative to help any area of the business if possible
• Performs other duties as assigned and requested
