Cashier

About the role

Your number one priority as a Part-Time Cashier will be to assist customers during the checkout process and deliver on our high brand and execution standards. At Northern Tool + Equipment, we serve tradespeople who keep our country running and weekend warriors who want to work like them. It’s our mission to ensure they have the right tools for the job and an easy, hassle-free shopping experience.

Spanish language skills are preferred. This role requires open availability, including mornings and weekends, with a schedule of 12-18 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers as they enter the store and ensure they enjoy the best shopping experience possible.
• Complete all transactions quickly and accurately.
• Offer our Protection Plan on all eligible products and our credit card on all customer transactions (incentive pay for selling protection plans and credit cards).
• Be a team player by assisting with tasks such as putting away product, executing price changes, or other duties to help better serve customers.

Requirements

• Prior retail sales, cashier, or customer service experience admired but not required.
• Flexible availability and willingness to work some weekends and holidays as needed.
• Love of tools and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs.
• Service-focused mindset.
