Cashier

About the role

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is seeking a high-energy, positive, and team-minded Cashier to join their retail team. This role is integral to the success of the retail store operation, supporting the organization's core values of respect, excellence, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Complete transactions, handle money responsibly, and maintain accuracy of point of sale purchases.
• Sort, grade, process, and stock shelves of donated goods.
• Maintain a positive shopping experience by providing excellent customer service.
• Perform basic housekeeping duties to keep the store clean.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• No formal education required.
• One year of customer service and/or production experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 10 lbs. occasionally.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk around the store.

• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Skills

• Customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills, particularly with point of sale systems.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting and carrying.
