ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represents Goodwill Contract Services in a professional manner at all times.
- Serves as a company ambassador and is able to explain the Goodwill mission in the community.
- Operate the cash register system in completing sales transactions according to all policies / procedures of the ServMart location.
- Accurately process payments, verify payment methods, and approvals thru established procedures.
- Follow all cashiering procedures as established by ServMart operating procedures and contract requirements, including register ring up, locking register draws, and opening / closing procedures.
- Smile, greet, welcome, thank, and assist all customers with their shopping needs and inquiries.
- Be attentive to customer needs at all times.
- Responsible to direct customer inquiries to appropriate vendors within the store for questions in relation to product, pricing, stock availability, or merchandise issues.
- Responsible to effectively communicate with onsite Government Management and Vendors within the store to handle inventory discrepancies or merchandise issues.
- Responsible to maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
- Be attentive and alert for potential shoplifters or vandals among the shoppers in the store. Alert store management of any incident or potential situations.
- Assist with other activities such as movement of merchandise within the facility.
- Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner, utilizing protective clothing and/or equipment when appropriate.
- Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner utilizing protective clothing and equipment and complies with safety standards.
- Performs duties in a safe and responsible manner. Complies with safety standards/policies, and follows operating procedures when utilizing equipment, tools and machinery.
- Other duties as assigned to assist in achieving successful service delivery and meeting contract requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience that shows potential to perform the essential duties of this position.
- Prior customer service experience and or training highly desirable.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Related experience and or training.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience that shows potential to perform the essential duties of this position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively before groups of customers, vendors, contract personnel, and other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must have the ability to pass and maintain required contract security clearances for base installation access and use of government technology.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, hear, and talk.
- The employee must be able to stand/walk for several hours at a time.
- The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, and feel.
- The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell.
- The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions and heat.
- The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Regular Attendance is a requirement of this position.
- Core work hours are between Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30 pm, including holidays, to meet contract requirements.
- Staff may be scheduled up to 2 hours before store opening and up to 2 hours after store closing to meet business need.
- Travel to alternate locations may be required.
