About the role
Festival Foods is a Wisconsin grocer dedicated to community service and guest satisfaction. With over 40 full-service supermarkets, we are seeking Cashiers to join our team. This role involves engaging with guests, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked register.
Responsibilities
- Engage with guests through friendly conversations and eye contact.
- Scan groceries, process sales, and handle transactions efficiently.
- Bag items thoughtfully to ensure products reach their destination safely.
- Maintain awareness of promotions and assist guests accordingly.
- Keep the register station neat and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Relay guest requests to the Guest Services leadership team as needed.
- Ensure all quality and quantity standards are met, especially during peak times.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
- Honor commitments by being punctual and reliable.
Requirements
- Customer Service Skills: Engaging with guests and providing excellent retail service.
- Retail Experience: Processing information and merchandise transactions, handling cash and media at registers.
- Communication: Effective communication with both customers and retail associates.
- Accuracy: Reading, counting, and writing accurately to ensure precise transactions.
- Equipment Operation: Operating all necessary equipment to perform the job.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The Cashier position requires standing for long periods, walking in the store, bending, stooping, and kneeling regularly. Fine finger and broad manual dexterity, along with eye-hand-foot coordination, are necessary to operate equipment. The associate must also lift and move boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store.
Work Schedule
The Cashier position offers flexible part-time and full-time opportunities, with schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on availability.
