Job Summary

Increases customer confidence and loyalty by providing accurate, fast and courteous customer checkout. Manages lanes according to service standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to increase customer confidence and loyalty.
  • Listens to and appropriately escalates customer concerns to management with a positive attitude.
• Stocks front end products; restocks and uses supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost.
  • Manages lane according to service standards.
• Assists customers in unloading purchases onto the conveyor belt at the checkout.
  • Packs customer purchases in a manner to prevent damages, carry or push groceries in a shopping cart to the customer’s car and load groceries into the vehicle.
• Checks the price of merchandise in all departments, as needed.
  • Collects shopping carts from parking lot and other areas and return to designated area.
• Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained.
  • Ensures self and all associates are working safely and have received necessary safety training.
• Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations.
  • Cultivates a culture of safety within the store.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School / GED Diploma

• Language(s): English
  • Spanish
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Customer Service skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Basic computer skills required to participate in online training.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • High standard of integrity and reliability.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Environmental Factors: Retail - General Medium: Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk on various types of flooring, utilize manual dexterity, talk, see, hear, smell and perform repetitive movements with both hands and/or both feet. The employee is frequently required to reach at waist level or overhead, carry, push, or lift up to the weights listed. The employee is occasionally required to sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb up to 10 ft. Working Conditions: While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be exposed to working in indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid working conditions. Safety Risk Factors: The employee is frequently required to twist back and/or neck, walk on a slippery or cluttered floor surface, work with hazardous equipment and be exposed to sharp objects. The employee is occasionally required to be exposed to loud noise, skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes and sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions and other toxins.
