Cashier Assistant (Front End)

About the role

Packs member orders into boxes and transfers items to a separate cart for cashiers. Performs clean-up, cart retrieval, merchandise restocking, and runs for items as directed. Provides a high level of member service.

Responsibilities

• Greets members, helps members load order onto conveyor belt, determines member packing preferences, answers questions, relates information on special promotions, thanks members.
• Assists cashier by counting items left in cart, checking under items, and positioning them for scanning.
• Packs member orders into boxes and loads to a separate cart or flatbed.
• Checks packaging for tampering and follows all safety and security procedures.
• Follows proper departmental procedures for performance of duties.
• Assists members loading orders into the car when appropriate.
• Runs for items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested by cashiers to keep lines moving smoothly.
• Maintains cleanliness of register area and general front end area; cleans spills and trip hazards immediately.
• Retrieves carts and flatbeds from the parking area using a rope with clasping hook, pushing no more than 10 carts together; keeps the lot area free of debris and sweeps in front of the building.
• Performs set up and closing duties for the department, such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning area.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery as required.
• Assists with department duties as necessary and in other departments of the warehouse as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
• Open availability to meet the needs of the business (apart from any religious or disability considerations).
• Proof of authorization to work in the United States if hired.
