Cash Receivable Specialist

In the role of Cash Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for researching and evaluating claims for proper reimbursement and working with third party payers to ensure maximum collections. About The Position
- Processing Payments: Accurately posting payments from various sources, including checks, electronic payments, and remittances from insurance companies and patients into the billing system.
- Reconciling Accounts: Balancing cash reports and ensuring the accurate recording and balancing of collected cash.
- Adjustments and Refunds: Making necessary adjustments to patient accounts, processing refunds for overpayments, and reconciling outstanding balances.
- EBO Review: Inspecting and interpreting Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) from insurance companies to understand payment details, adjustments, and denials.
- Error Resolution: Researching and correcting posting errors, and notifying appropriate staff members of payment issues and trends.
- Reporting: Generating reports related to payment posting, reconciliation, and cash balancing.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other members of the billing and financial department, responding to requests regarding account balance issues.
- Confidentiality: Maintaining the confidentiality of patient records and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide data to management on trends found with payers in claims adjudication process affecting claims payment.
- Maintain expertise in multiple current client systems.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of revenue cycle management, industry trends.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Acts as an effective team member.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years health care revenue cycle experience within a physician office, hospital or insurance plan claim processing unit.
- Participate in revenue cycle training.
- General knowledge of CPT/HCPCS and ICD.10 coding requirements.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
