About the role

The Financial Reporting & Accounting Services (FRAS) division at California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is seeking a motivated Student Assistant to support our Cash and Payments Processing team. In this role, you will assist with transaction handling, payment processing, and related administrative duties. This position works closely with a team of seven Cash Management professionals and regularly communicates with multiple divisions at CalPERS.

Students work up to 1,500 hours within a 12-month period and are paid hourly based on the number of hours worked. This position requires full-time attendance in the office, working onsite up to five days per week.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with high-dollar transaction handling and payment processing
• Support administrative duties related to cash and payment operations
• Collaborate with Cash Management professionals and other CalPERS divisions
• Work flexible hours that accommodate your class schedule

Requirements

• Proof of application for, or enrollment as a student in, an appropriate college or university program (transcript or proof of enrollment required)
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Pay

• $3,167.00 - $3,480.00 (Range A)
• $3,389.00 - $3,724.00 (Range B)
• $3,623.00 - $3,988.00 (Range C)
• $3,878.00 - $4,268.00 (Range D)

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
