Cash Application Specialist

Responsibilities

• Oversee incoming JPMorgan communications and take appropriate action to keep cash activity organized and up to date.
• Validate system-produced policyholder refund transactions to ensure payment amounts and supporting details are correct before release.
• Apply customer and policyholder payments within the policy administration platform with a high level of accuracy.
• Examine outstanding accounts receivable balances, identify aging items, and support recommendations for write-offs when appropriate.
• Partner with customer service to resolve payment issues, including fund reversals, reapplications, cash research, urgent refunds, card voids, chargebacks, and check reissuances.
• Address complex inquiries escalated by offshore team members and provide clear follow-up to move items to resolution.
• Maintain precise financial records and support day-to-day cash posting activities that contribute to accurate reporting.
• Cook up multiple processing priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of experience in cash application, cash posting, accounts receivable, or a closely related finance role.
• High school diploma required; additional college coursework is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on accuracy in transaction processing and reconciliation work.
• Able to manage shifting priorities, handle multiple tasks at once, and complete work within established deadlines.
• Educated in effective written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and responding to account-related issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and reconciliation activities.
• Experience supporting customer payment investigations, refunds, or account adjustments is highly valued.
• Familiarity with insurance premium receivables is preferred.
