Cash Accounting Representative

About the Role

The Cash Accounting Representative supports daily cash management and reconciliation activities within a high-volume mortgage lending environment. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions by reconciling bank activity, monitoring payment exceptions, processing deposits, and maintaining detailed payment records.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily cash transactions to ensure accurate bank balance reporting and financial integrity.
• Analyze daily check exceptions through Positive Pay systems to identify and prevent fraudulent payment activities.
• Research and reissue stale-dated or uncashed checks while maintaining compliance with company policies and banking regulations.
• Update and maintain the master check tracking log to support accurate payment monitoring and audit readiness.
• Deposit processed funds using Remote Deposit systems and collaborate with banking partners to resolve suspicious payment issues efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience with strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in Windows and Encompass (Encompass preferred).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience in payment processing or a related financial operations field.
