Caseworker Supervisor - Children & Youth

About the role

This position functions as a key member of the management team and provides direct supervision to Caseworkers. The work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (75 hours bi-weekly). The salary is $36.17/hour, with an annual salary of $70,531.50.

Responsibilities

• Assure caseworkers are meeting all regulatory requirements regarding assessment of safety and risk
• Assure caseworkers are engaging families in the development of service plans within the required timeframes
• Supervise and support caseworkers, including one-on-one training
• Assign and monitor work within the service area/unit
• Provide support to caseworkers regarding the effects of vicarious trauma
• Participate in all court hearings with casework staff
• Participate on the Administrative/Management Team
• Attend weekly staffing review to assure quality service provision to children and families
• Conduct performance reviews of casework staff
• Handle any personnel issues within the service area/unit
• Develop and implement new policies and procedures as assigned to assure the Agency remains in compliance with DPW regulations
• Maintain data regarding program area
• Work with new caseworkers and/or interns to complete transfer of learning assignments while completing Foundations training series
• Attend treatment team meetings and home visits with caseworkers as needed
• Schedule and develop an agenda for service area meetings, held monthly (minimum)
• Serve as Emergency Duty Back-up Supervisor in rotation with other agency supervisors/administrators
• Obtain and maintain certifications as Direct Service Worker and Supervisor as delineated by statute
• Complete Supervisory Training Series (60 hours)
• Provide training to public and private agencies regarding children and youth issues

Requirements

Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor’s degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
