Responsibilities
- Maintain effective communication with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
- Drafting of legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures
- Research and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys
- Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements
- Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items
- Able to demonstrate key performance indicators and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervisory oversight
- Monitor & manage client’s medical treatment
- Sends requests for information including medical records & billing
- Maintain/organize client files
- Preparation and filing of general correspondence, e-mails, demand packages and other exhibits into Case Management Software
- Understand subrogation liens & disputing unrelated charges
- Complete balance sheets accurately reflecting Rule 414 payments/adjustments
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance portals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) plus years of experience working with NC personal injury claims
- Passion for advocating for our clients and maintaining a positive attitude
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and colleagues
Preferred
- Associate's degree or higher Paralegal certificate
