Our PET Dairy plant, a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), produces a variety of dairy products under well-known regional brands. DFA is a cooperative owned by over 12,500 family farmers, delivering fresh, delicious dairy to communities nationwide.
About the role
We are seeking a fast-paced and motivated case dock laborer to perform tasks including picking, pulling, and building orders, palletizing products, loading and unloading materials, and staging for outgoing delivery. You will safely operate material handling equipment in warehouse, cooler, freezer, or dock environments and work at any assigned station or line.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean all equipment in assigned area
- Slide case stacks from trucks using a milk hook or pallet jack
- Ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent production delays
- Confirm empty case area is stocked at the end of the shift to assist the next shift
- Prioritize truck unloading based on supervisor or yard driver input
- Maintain a tidy workspace to reduce trip and slip hazards
- Remove broken or unusable cases to the designated area
- Handle returned and truck inventory product as instructed
- Unload and wash trailers efficiently while keeping dock doors closed when not in use
- Complete all paperwork clearly, legibly, and accurately
- Document required information in accordance with SOPs
- Identify and report process improvement opportunities
- Report food safety and quality issues to management immediately
- Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health and safety regulations
- Follow DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Able to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, background, and criminal checks
- Must be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach, and bend for the entire shift
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others with lifting; manually stack and move cases up to 6-8 cases high
- Must be able to work in a wet environment and temperatures of 35-40°F
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
- May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals
Pay
$19.50 per hour
Schedule
- 1st Shift: Monday–Saturday, 6:00 AM–Finish, with rotating days off
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Saturday, 3:00 PM–Finish, with rotating days off
