Responsibilities
- Oversees the acquisition and maintenance of simulation equipment, technology, and facilities.
- Communicates location and supply level suggestions, changes, and problems to Case Cart Manager or Supervisor regularly.
- Participates in the reduction of expiring supplies and implants through proper rotation.
- Maintains tissue tracking of bone and tissue products in the Track Core system.
- Conducts year-end inventory counts for all Surgical Department supply locations.
- Ensures frozen implants are handled according to IFU recommendations for patient safety.
- Supports specialty-specific service lines by knowing clinical products and providing sub options to OR staff and Surgeons.
- Communicates back orders with OR staff and Surgeons and handles all FedEx deliveries and transfers.
- Affords assistance with receiving and restocking incoming supplies and ensures items are stored in the proper unit of issue in assigned locations for all areas under the Surgical Services umbrella.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Scans and fills inventory for all Surgical Services Department locations.
- Manages inventory control and restocking for all Surgical Services Department locations.
Requirements
- Good oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Identifies own learning needs and seeks opportunities for self-growth and career advancement.
- Attends annual mandatory Inservice, required meetings and continuing education.
- Promotes the hospital image and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital’s reputation as a health care center.
- Ability to take call and be within 30 minutes of the hospital per on call policy.
Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equiv.
- Field Of Study graduate or equivalent.
- Surgical Tech graduate recommended.
- Graduate of recognized Surgical Technologist Program, or other training which provides education in medical terminology, supply nomenclature, and usage, and inventory management recommended.
