Job Summary

As a CAS Senior Manager, you will oversee client accounting operations and manage a team of accounting professionals. You will ensure accurate and timely financial services to clients, maintain client relationships, and drive process improvements.

Job Description

  • Client Accounting Support:

    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, reconciliations, and adjustments
    • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by the team
    • Cook up month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards
    • Absorb budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders
    • Analyze financial data, identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide insights and recommendations to clients and management
    • Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding services and escalate to the appropriate business advisors
  • Client Communication and Support:

    • Serve as the main point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships based on trust and exceptional service
    • Understand clients' business objectives, challenges, and requirements, and provide strategic financial advice and solutions
    • Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction
    • Communicate financial information, insights, and recommendations to clients, management, and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
    • Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding services and escalate to the appropriate business advisors
  • Team Management:

    • Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management
    • Oversee and lead a team of managers, providing guidance, support, and strategic direction to ensure effective performance and achievement of departmental goals
    • Set performance goals, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and conduct regular performance evaluations
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, and audit, to ensure effective coordination and delivery of client accounting services
  • Process Improvement and Compliance:

    • Continuously evaluate and improve client accounting processes, systems, and controls to drive efficiency and accuracy
    • Implement best practices and streamline workflows to optimize productivity and quality of deliverables
    • Stay updated with accounting regulations and industry trends, implementing changes as necessary
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and client-specific requirements
    • Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and addressing audit findings
    • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard client assets and ensure data integrity
    • Manage billing clients, accounts receivable, maintain departmental budgets, financial performance, and gross profit target
    • Maintain and drive the achievement of department goals, aligning with the company's strategic vision and ensuring successful outcomes for projects and client engagements
    • Efficiently manage regional initiatives and responsibilities, ensuring seamless coordination and successful execution of projects within the designated geographic area

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise subordinate team members
  • Conduct performance reviews

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

Travel Required

Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needs

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business
  • 10+ years of relevant Accounting/Finance and management/supervisory experience in public accounting, professional services, corporate or private industry
  • Thorough understanding of advanced accounting principles

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Advanced degree/MBACPA license or relevant certification
  • Supervisory experience, large staff
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, NetSuite
