Job Summary
As a CAS Senior Manager, you will oversee client accounting operations and manage a team of accounting professionals. You will ensure accurate and timely financial services to clients, maintain client relationships, and drive process improvements.
Job Description
Client Accounting Support:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, reconciliations, and adjustments
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by the team
- Cook up month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards
- Absorb budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide insights and recommendations to clients and management
- Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding services and escalate to the appropriate business advisors
Client Communication and Support:
- Serve as the main point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships based on trust and exceptional service
- Understand clients' business objectives, challenges, and requirements, and provide strategic financial advice and solutions
- Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Communicate financial information, insights, and recommendations to clients, management, and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding services and escalate to the appropriate business advisors
Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Oversee and lead a team of managers, providing guidance, support, and strategic direction to ensure effective performance and achievement of departmental goals
- Set performance goals, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and conduct regular performance evaluations
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, and audit, to ensure effective coordination and delivery of client accounting services
Process Improvement and Compliance:
- Continuously evaluate and improve client accounting processes, systems, and controls to drive efficiency and accuracy
- Implement best practices and streamline workflows to optimize productivity and quality of deliverables
- Stay updated with accounting regulations and industry trends, implementing changes as necessary
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and client-specific requirements
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and addressing audit findings
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard client assets and ensure data integrity
- Manage billing clients, accounts receivable, maintain departmental budgets, financial performance, and gross profit target
- Maintain and drive the achievement of department goals, aligning with the company's strategic vision and ensuring successful outcomes for projects and client engagements
- Efficiently manage regional initiatives and responsibilities, ensuring seamless coordination and successful execution of projects within the designated geographic area
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise subordinate team members
- Conduct performance reviews
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
Travel Required
Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needs
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business
- 10+ years of relevant Accounting/Finance and management/supervisory experience in public accounting, professional services, corporate or private industry
- Thorough understanding of advanced accounting principles
Preferred Education and Experience
- Advanced degree/MBACPA license or relevant certification
- Supervisory experience, large staff
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, NetSuite
