CAS/ Payroll Associate

About the Role

Fields Nemec & Co., founded in 1969, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Client Accounting Solutions department in Corpus Christi, Texas. This full-time position involves working closely with our team to provide accounting and consulting services to a diverse range of clients across various industries.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bookkeeping services for small business clients, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax filings as needed.
• Process client payrolls on a weekly basis, maintaining schedules and appropriate paperwork.
• Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports for federal and state agencies.
• Prepare annual 1099 returns.
• Provide assistance to team members and clients as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred, but experience is a must.
• QuickBooks Online Certification required (may be obtained after hiring within an allotted time).
• Extensive experience in payroll processing, reporting, and compliance.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities efficiently and organized.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge-seeking with a willingness to learn.
