CAS: Nebraska | 5hr Behavior Support Special Education Assistant

PURPOSE

Aid teachers with various instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students in special education or general classrooms.

Work Schedule

• School Year
• Shifts typically between 7:15am and 3:30pm
• Exact start and end times may vary based on school needs and position hours

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred
• Flexible to meet changing student needs
• Strong tutorial skills
• Ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents
• Desire to see young people succeed
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently
• Strong office computer, oral, and written communication skills
• Knowledge of child guidance principles and practices
• Basic instructional methods and techniques
• Willingness to supervise students in community settings
• Participation in Special Education Department training
