CAS Analyst
Job Description and Duties
The ITA will independently provide staff support to the governance of information available via the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) and remain up-to-date with the frequent changes impacting CLETS. They will formulate, analyze, and recommend policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards to provide a common framework for technology governance. They will utilize various assessment, outreach, and communication methods to implement California laws, CLETS, and FBI requirements as they relate to access to criminal justice information in DOJ's repository and support AB 1747 requirements.
The ITA will conduct complex detailed analyses of CLETS usage and prepare and present the information, including recommendations for suspension of service before DOJ executive management and the CLETS Advisory Committee. They may act as a team leader or coordinate the efforts of representatives of various governmental law enforcement agencies, including outreach and training to the law enforcement communities, developing training documents and PowerPoint presentations, preparing and presenting information before the CLETS Advisory Committee, and updating the California Law Enforcement Website to ensure policy and training information is made available to all CLETS subscribing agencies.
Working Conditions
This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.
