About the role
The Cullman County Commission is hiring a Part Time CARTS Driver/CARTS Driver Trainee. The employee will drive a vehicle, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, keep the vehicle clean, maintain records of fares and vehicle status, assist passengers, and be available on-call 24/7 for emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Drive vehicle
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Keep vehicle clean
- Keep updated reports concerning vehicles and monies (fares)
- Assist passengers within established guidelines
- Work Monday through Friday with varying hours
- Be on-call 24/7 for emergencies
Requirements
- Valid CDL with passenger endorsement
- Minimum of three (3) years experience as a CDL Driver utilizing passenger endorsement
- Safe driving record and insurable with the County's insurance carrier
- Willingness to work different shifts
- Knowledge to understand and follow rules and regulations of defensive driving
- Ability to operate a MDC properly and maintain proper paperwork
Qualifications
This is a "Safety-Sensitive" position. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical. The employee will also be subject to random and routine unannounced drug screenings throughout their employment with the County in a "Safety-Sensitive" position.
