Carpenter/Woodworker
About the role
The position profile involves assembling products according to production schedules, maintaining work station cleanliness, safety, and accuracy of time sheets. Key responsibilities include reading and understanding furniture drawings, creating detailed cut lists, performing cutting, joinery, assembly, and finish sanding tasks. Essential skills include proficiency with woodworking equipment and tools, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assembly of products
- Meet all critical dimensions and product characteristics
- Maintain work station clean, organized, and safe
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required
- Maintain the time sheet accurate and on time
- Observe all company policies and standard practices
- Participate on all required continuous improvement activities
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years previous experience of woodworking
- Reading and understanding furniture drawings, dimensions, views, and tolerances
- Proficient using equipment and hand tools such as: Bench saw, Miter saw/Radial saw, Band saw, Planer/Jointer, Electrical tools: Router, screw driver, sander, Hand tools
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment while managing multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail and flawless results
- Able to communicate with multiple levels within an organization and be a team member
Qualifications
Must have the ability to read and comprehend furniture drawings, and create detailed cut lists. Perform the cutting, joinery, assembly and finish sanding of furniture frames, decorative sofa and chair bases, small tables, consoles, and benches.
