Carpenter II - Facilities & Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Fabricates cabinets, lockers, platforms, work benches, sheds and shelves
• Repairs slot bases, doors, roofs, woodwork and trim
• Assembles decks and shelving
• Hangs mirrors, bulletin boards, protective wall sheeting, ceiling tiles and signs
• Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, finish hardware, paneling, stairs, partitions and cabinet work
• Studies blueprints, sketches or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated
• Selects specified type of lumber or other material, prepares layout, makes working sketches, marks cutting and assembly lines on materials

Qualifications

• High School diploma or trade school certificate required
• A minimum of four (4) years of related experience and one (1) year of casino experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Well-organized, detail oriented with ability to prioritize tasks and meet prescribed deadlines
• Fine motor hand and finger dexterity needed

Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, lifting up to 75 pounds
• Excessive noise, second hand smoke exposure, and exposure to casino-related environmental factors
• Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
