Key Responsibilities
- Working from blue prints, specifications, drawings and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures.
- Design, build, install, and repair structural woodwork, flooring, ceilings and cabinetry.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate hand and power carpentry tools.
- Recognize and select appropriate lumber types and grades.
- Make rough sketches, estimate cost, time and materials of carpentry projects.
- Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
- Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.
- Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations.
- Estimate cost, time and materials for carpentry projects.
- Research, purchase and inventory equipment parts, chemicals and supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in commercial/industrial settings.
- Applicable building and safety code requirements.
- Methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including; alterations and repairs.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Adaptable and flexible in work situations.
- Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner.
- PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment.
- Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years experience in the carpentry trade.
- Valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping.
- Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.
- Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.
- Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions.

- Formal apprenticeship.
