How You Will Make An Impact

As a Custom Truck Carpenter at Reading Truck, you’ll play a key role in building and finishing custom truck bodies from the ground up. This is a hands-on position where your craftsmanship directly impacts the quality, durability, and functionality of our final product.

What You’ll Do (The Nuts And Bolts)

• Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
• Build and install truck interiors including shelving, flooring, panels, trim, cabinetry, and ceilings
• Perform finish carpentry work such as trim, molding, and detailed installations
• Cut, measure, and assemble wood, aluminum, galvanized steel, and composite materials
• Read blueprints, shop drawings, and layout instructions to ensure accuracy
• Install hardware including brackets, hinges, fasteners, and other components
• Sand, finish, and seal surfaces to meet quality and durability standards
• Inspect work and identify defects or needed repairs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform basic maintenance checks on tools and equipment
• Support team production goals and assist other departments as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Credentials

• Hands-on carpentry or cabinetmaking experience
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and tape measures accurately
• Own set of hand and power tools suitable for carpentry
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• High school diploma or GED preferred
