Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform interior and exterior metal stud framing for commercial construction projects, ensuring all work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.
- Install and hang drywall with precision, maintaining proper alignment, fastening, and overall quality to support finishing and inspection requirements.
- Assist with the assembly, setup, and stripping of concrete form systems for walls, foundations, columns, and other structural elements as required on commercial job sites.
- Perform finish and trim carpentry tasks as needed, including installation of doors, frames, hardware, trim, casing, baseboards, and other detailed finish work to ensure high-quality project completion.
- Collaborate with crew members and other trades to complete framing, drywall, formwork, and related scopes of work efficiently while maintaining project schedules and productivity goals.
- Apply construction mathematics to accurately measure, cut, and assemble materials, consistently following best practices such as “measure twice, cut once” to minimize waste and ensure quality workmanship.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA safety standards, including proper handling of tools, materials, and equipment.
- Perform work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts, and adapt to varying jobsite conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments and changing weather conditions.
- Assist with ceiling grid installation, backing/blocking, and other structural or interior components to support overall project completion.
- Carry out other duties as assigned to meet project demands and support team objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial carpentry, framing, drywall, finish/trim carpentry, or related construction work.
- Current OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Can safely lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, stairs, and climb out of ditches
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents to execute work accurately
- Working knowledge of commercial carpentry methods, including metal stud framing, drywall installation, and finish/trim carpentry
- Familiarity with concrete formwork systems, including layout, assembly, bracing, and stripping procedures
- Strong understanding of construction math, including measurements, layout, and material calculations
- Proficient in the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment commonly used in commercial construction
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to maintain safe work practices in active jobsite environments
