Carpenter

About the role

The Carpenter position at Keiland Construction is responsible for the full range of concrete formwork and rough and finish skilled carpentry work for commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Accurately read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and sketches
• Work with minimal supervision on a wide variety of tasks
• Use tools, equipment and materials common to the carpentry trade
• Operate equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, skid loaders and forklifts
• Execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Read, understand, and comply with safety procedures at all times
• Perform field work involving stooping, crouching and lifting
• Work in uncomfortable conditions including exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and confined spaces

Requirements

• Detail-oriented and organized
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Proficient in using electrical and hand tools as well as measurement tools
• Valid Driver’s License
• Drug & alcohol-free workplace
• Verifiable references

Qualifications

• Understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Solid basic math skills

Skills

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings and sketches
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment common to the carpentry trade
• Effective prioritization and execution of tasks
• Safe work practices
