About the role

The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) is seeking a Carpenter to join the Operations Team. The Operations Team builds houses and other specimens for Researchers to test and analyze the resiliency of structures.

Responsibilities

• Install, frame, roof, drywall, paint, and perform other carpentry tasks as required.
• Operate forklift equipment as needed.
• Support facility maintenance activities.
• Assist in testing and analysis of specimen structures.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Overcome obstacles, seek advice, and adapt based on outcomes.
• Maintain tools in good condition using a PM strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with power and hand tools such as saws, drills, and hammers.

• Knowledge of carpentry best practices and techniques.
