About the role
Sao Miguel Construction Company is actively recruiting skilled and motivated carpenters, including apprentices and foremen, to join our dynamic team. The position involves regional travel to various remodel sites, with all travel expenses covered by the company.
Responsibilities
- Execute a variety of carpentry tasks, including framing, installing doors and windows, cabinetry, and other finish carpentry work.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate execution of construction plans.
- Collaborate with project managers, fellow carpenters, and other construction professionals to ensure timely project completion.
- Uphold high-quality standards in all carpentry work, ensuring precision, durability, and adherence to safety regulations.
- For apprentices, actively engage in on-the-job training, learning from experienced carpenters, and developing skills under supervision.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a hazard-free environment.
- Travel to various regional remodel sites as required by project needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter or completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools relevant to carpentry work.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work up to 55 hours a week, including 15 hours of overtime.
- Flexibility to travel regionally to various remodel sites.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
Pay
Hourly rate between $28 to $32, with opportunities for overtime pay.
