Responsibilities and Duties
1. Mixing and Pouring: Prepare concrete mixtures according to specified ratios and pour concrete into forms or molds to create structures such as foundations, slabs, walls, and containment areas. 2. Finishing: Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using a variety of hand and power tools, including floats, trowels, and screeds, to achieve the desired texture and appearance. 3. Repair: Perform repairs on damaged concrete structures, including patching cracks, resurfacing, and applying protective coatings to extend the lifespan of the structures. 4. Form Setup: Construct and dismantle forms for concrete structures, ensuring they are properly aligned and secured. 5. Reinforcement Placement: Place and secure rebar and other reinforcing materials within the form according to design specifications to enhance the structural integrity of the concrete. 6. Excavation: Perform excavation tasks to prepare sites for concrete construction, including digging trenches, and leveling. 7. Equipment Operation: Operate heavy machinery and equipment such as excavators and skid steers to assist with excavation and construction tasks. 8. Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. 9. Hazard Identification: Identify potential hazards in the work environment and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel. 10. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, and supervisors to address any issues or concerns that may arise during the construction process. 11. Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude and a cooperative and productive work environment. Get along well with co-workers and contribute to team efforts. 12. Following Instructions: Follow detailed instructions from supervisors and project managers accurately and efficiently to ensure project specifications and timelines are met. 13. Cross-Functional Tasks: Be prepared to work outside of your primary craft as needed. As a maintenance contractor providing services to a client, you will be involved in various other work details and tasks to support overall project goals.
