About the Role

The CASA (Carleton Afghan Students Association) representative will work towards representing Afghan students and actively participate in larger Carleton University student association initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

• Introducing and promoting Afghan culture to foster cultural diversity within the university community.
• Advocating for Afghan girls who are denied the basic right to education in Afghanistan.
• Addressing and raising awareness about persistent issues and injustices faced by people in Afghanistan.
• Creating opportunities for Afghans in the West to reconnect with their roots and cultural heritage.

The CASA aims to provide a space for Afghans to celebrate their culture while also offering students and individuals of all backgrounds the chance to learn about Afghanistan—its beauty and the current injustices affecting its people.
