Caregivers Needed!

About the role

Assist residents with support related to hydration, safety, and adherence to policies during scheduled smoking breaks and throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Make hydration rounds outside of smoke break times to ensure residents are well-hydrated.
• Ensure proper liquid diet textures are followed.
• Keep hallways decluttered.
• Assist residents during supervised or unsupervised smoking breaks, including:
  • Ensuring no flammable items are in the smoking area.
  • Rounding on the smoking patio to monitor adherence to smoking policies.
  • Redirecting residents to safety areas as needed.
  • Encouraging residents to wear smoking aprons.
  • Counting, tracking, and logging resident items before and after smoking breaks.
  • Remaining in line of sight of residents at all times during smoking breaks.
• Answer call lights and notify other staff members if a resident requests assistance.
• Communicate with management as needed.
• Complete any other tasks delegated by management.

Note: Caregivers do not provide physical care for residents, such as ADL care or mobility assistance (e.g., walking).

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Provide 2-3 professional references.
• Must speak, read, and be an excellent communicator.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
