About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team at Butterfly Home Care – Manassas in Prince William County, VA. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide exceptional care and support to our clients, helping them maintain independence and quality of life. This position requires lifting/transferring up to 115 lbs, supporting a client with personal care and transportation to medical appointments. Client smokes tobacco. Located in Woodbridge, VA 22193. Part-time initially with potential for full-time hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
• Provide medication reminders and assist with self-administration of medications within the caregiver’s permitted scope
• Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and repositioning as needed
• Prepare meals and provide assistance with eating when appropriate
• Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities that support their physical, emotional, and social well-being
• Encourage independence and support each client’s individual abilities, preferences, routines, and goals
• Observe clients for changes in condition, behavior, or needs and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor
• Assist with light housekeeping and maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe home environment
• Follow each client’s individualized plan of care and Butterfly Home Care policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to safely assist with lifting, transferring, repositioning, and mobility needs when required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other members of the care team
• Dependable, patient, respectful, and compassionate
• Ability to work independently while remaining connected to and supported by our care team
• Commitment to protecting client privacy and maintaining confidentiality
• Previous caregiving, personal care, DSP, PCA, CNA, or related experience preferred
