About the role
Vista Springs Trillium Village is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team. As a Resident Care Assistant, you will provide comfort, safety, and general supervision to residents, ensuring a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment.
Responsibilities
- Arrive punctually at your scheduled shift time ready to work
- Understand, comply with and promote Resident Rights
- Maintain confidentiality of resident health information as required by HIPAA
- Understand and comply with Universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices and procedures
- Ensure a safe environment for residents, visitors and co-workers
- Provide resident care as outlined in resident care guide/service plan
- Answer residents' call signals. Respond to door alarms, fire alarms, etc.
- Complete daily charting and documentation as required
- Observe and report resident behavior and condition changes (including food/liquid intake/output, vital signs, skin concerns, weight and signs of injury or neglect)
- Obtain residents weight, vitals and conduct blood sugar checks as directed. Report results to the resident care manager/ resident care specialist
- Adhere to procedures regarding equipment, cleaners and other hazardous materials and report incidents or accidents in a timely fashion
- Attend mandatory in-service meetings and other continuing education opportunities as required
- Display a caring, respectful and positive attitude when addressing residents, family members and co-workers
- Capture ancillary supply costs for billable supplies provided to resident
- Clean up spills, soiled areas and other conditions as observed or directed
- Perform general housekeeping and laundry duties as required
- Assist with kitchen and dining room tasks associated with resident meals, including preparatory work, serving, cleaning up, and setting tables, taking out trash and other related duties
- Participate in or lead leisure activities as planned by the Life Engagement team
- Aid and remind residents to participate in activities
- Perform other duties as requested within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- No prior experience necessary
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of operating a computer and familiarity with Word, Excel and Outlook in a Windows environment
- First aid and CPR training

Skills & Abilities
- Education and Experience: High school Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), no prior experience necessary
- Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of operating a computer and familiarity with Word, Excel and Outlook in a Windows environment
- Certificates & Licenses: First aid and CPR training
Pay
- $15.75-16.25 depending on shift, work 3 days on, 4-days off!
- $1.00 more per hour after your 60-day introductory period (Perfect Attendance Required)
- Higher Pay for Passing Meds!
- Perfect Attendance Incentive for Full Time Employees: Equivalent to $1.00/hour more for hours worked, up to $40.00/week!
- Shift Pick-Up Bonuses, $2.00 per hour more for picking up a shift, stipulations apply.
