Caregiver/PCA (Full-Time)(3p-11p) - Gates House

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a positive working relationship with residents, family members and staff.
• Maintains confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Aid with daily living activities to ensure the patient is taken care of, including turning and ambulating patients and delivering food and beverages.
• Help patients with personal hygiene tasks such as providing bedpans and assisting with bathing.
• Provide additional patient care as needed, such as delivering ice packs and dressings for therapy sessions.
• Monitor and record food intake, urinary and fecal output, and share this information with medical and nursing staff.
• Utilize infection control precautions and practices during all activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures and report any safety violations.

Requirements

• Passion for the senior population.
• High School diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
• Current CPR Certification (American Heart Association) preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• The ability to work independently and maintain efficient and consistent communications under direction from a team leader or manager.
• Excellent oral communication skills when interacting with other healthcare professionals in the presence of residents.
• The ability to handle high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
