Caregiver - Part Time, 20 to 40 Hours a Week
About the role
Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers in Summit County, Ohio. The position is part-time, ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week. Hours run from 6AM to 8PM, with most care provided between 8AM and 5PM.
Responsibilities
- Help people in their homes with tasks such as baths, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, errands, and companionship.
- Do not give medicine or perform medical tasks; those are handled by nurses.
Qualifications
- STNA license: $18/hour
- HHA certificate or experience: $16-18/hour based on interview
- Free training pathway: $16/hour
- Referral bonus for private pay clients: HHA $19/hour, STNA $20/hour

How to Qualify
- STNA (active or expired): $18/hour, 1-3 days, skip test
- HHA certificate (30+ hours, RN-signed unless done online): $16-18/hour, 5-8 days
- Experience (1+ year at one company under an RN or LPN): $16-18/hour, 5-8 days after verification
- No experience: free 32-hour online training (6 days to finish, not paid): $16/hour, 1-2 weeks
Pay
The pay starts at $16/hour for those with no experience and increases based on performance and referrals. STNAs receive a higher starting rate due to their licenses.
Schedule
Shifts can be as short as 2-3 hours per visit, with some lasting 4-6 hours or even 8 hours. Clients may require multiple visits throughout the day to meet the required hours.
Client Matching
Caregivers are matched with clients based on their personal preferences and availability, ensuring a flexible schedule that fits the caregiver’s needs.
Guarantee
If you can travel to any of our client locations and work with any client, you will be guaranteed a placement. If there are no immediate matches in your area, you will be the first in line when openings occur.
Requirements
- Driver’s license
- Own vehicle with valid insurance for work purposes
- Pass background checks
- Available for at least 20 hours per week
- Available between 6AM-8PM
- Legal right to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years old
Where
We serve Summit County, including Akron, Barberton, Copley, Cuyahoga Falls, Hartville, Hudson, Kent, New Franklin, Norton, Rootstown, Silver Lake, Stow, Tallmadge, and Uniontown. We match caregivers based on travel distance, not just city names.
